schedule. So we're going to sort of dive right in. We're going to cut the chit chat. There's

going to be no banter today. Just going to hit it hard. And we're going to start off with our jersey

number. Because this is episode 165. And so we got to talk jersey number 65 and man we are we're really in the

the doldrums of the jersey numbers um but big maple james paxton 10 years oh yeah 13.8 f war it doesn't

seem like a whole lot except there are only three players in the history of the game to have worn this jersey number and accumulate more than that or our war, not F war, R war.

They are Yon Mankata, Franber Valdez, and Cliff Lee.

They wore it for four seasons combined between them.

I guess I could give a shout out to Lee who wore it for two seasons at least.

But Paxton, 10 years were in the jersey number, obviously lots of injury issues for that guy.

I went to one of his very, very, very, very first game. So he debuted with the Mariners in 2012, no, 2013. 2013 he debuted with the Mariners in 2012, no, 2013.

2013 he debuted with the Mariners.

And I went to one of his first games with a good friend of mine who is a Dodgers fan.

And he, like, midway through the start was like, man, I get Clayton Kershaw vibes from this guy.

Like his, the way he pitches, big lefty, right?

Like, and, uh, I just like, both of us just sort of fell in love with this guy as a pitcher

real early in his career.

And man, it is a shame he didn't stay healthy because he was so good when he was at his best.

Yeah, I'm good with Paxton.

Very short stint with the Red Sox that did involve, you know, a lack of consistent production and obviously a lack of health.
