The narrative we're told for the most part culturally in the States is that creativity,

creative projects, creative pursuits, your art is the thing you get to when you're done

being responsible.

So if you're responsible enough to the machinery that pays rent, that, you know, that pays

taxes, if you're responsible enough to the machinery, then you earn the right long-term

to do the things that are actually best in you that you desire and you love.

That's the narrative.

And it's freaking everywhere.

Like it's, and there aren't like specific places from whence this thing comes, but it's

absolutely everywhere.

And you couldn't find a college student who doesn't feel that pressure to like get the

degree you're supposed to get so you can make the money you're supposed to make.

So that eventually maybe you can retire and maybe, maybe enjoy your freaking work.

Whereas like the thing I started doing early on was like, ah, there are things that really

I want to tell stories.

I want to get on stage and make people laugh.

Like I want to do these creative things that are in me, these creative ideas.

Like I'm just, I'm going to bank on this and live my life this way.
