But why some say the moon? Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask why climb

the highest mountain? Five thirty-five years ago, fly the Atlantic. Fly to the right

place, play Texas. We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon. We choose

to go to the moon and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they

are hard. Because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies

and skills. Because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept. One we are

unwilling to postpone and one we intend to win and the others too.

I've come a long way in my appreciation for John F. Kennedy. Those that listen to the

backstage pass know that I've done a 180 degree shift in my thinking on Kennedy. My daughter

has been a big part of that. She's fascinated by space. She bought a virtual ticket on the

Artemis rocket. She wanted to watch it go up and she's fascinated by how they land the

booster back on the pad. Just in awe. She's just a science girl. Love science. But space

in particular, we sit and watch the universe show on Netflix, which is mostly like physicist

talking, heavy science stuff. She came from school. She said, Dad, we've been learning

about black holes. I was like, Oh, that's amazing. You must love that. Then we started

talking and then she said, I asked my teacher when we're going to learn about dark matter

and dark energy. And they said, Oh, that's that's high school science, Vivian, and she was

disappointed. And I was like, well, just have to study that stuff on our own, I guess.

And we've watched it Apollo 13. And I go to pick her up from our school soccer practice

yesterday. And it was just this aberrant 90 degree day in Connecticut, like 68, 68, 90,

71. And it was hot, man, hot. So I show up and she is just drenched, faces red. She looks

miserable. And when the car and she tells me that three of the five girls from her grade
