Doesn't feel too dead to me. But we're going to catch up with three players in the

National Football League. I think many of you really like.

We're going to hear from Minnesota wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

Then Carolina running back Christian McCaffrey trying to come back from a banged up year and then Austin Echler of the Los Angeles Chargers.

A Player Pact podcast this week just so that you know, I recorded these during Super Bowl week.

They oftentimes make players available,

Anyway, before we get into our Player Pod this week,

I wanted to talk about two events

that are sort of hanging over the NFL right now.

One, J.J. Watt. What will happen to J.J. Watt? Okay, so let's just, let's go back for a moment and talk about, so it didn't really seem that J.J. Watt in his goodbye message was all that

warm and fuzzy about the Houston Texans.

And I really think in the last year or so,

J.J. Watt has grown tired of playing for the Houston Texans.

He did not think they were on the right path

to building a Super Bowl team, even though they had a franchise quarterback.

And I believe he pushed this very hard early in this off season.

And finally, the owner of the Texans, Cal McNair and his mom, Janice McNair, who's the widow of Bob McNair, the team founder, basically said to him last week,

okay, we're going to release you, good luck,
