I know it's unlikely, but what would Justin Fields need to do this season to convince

you he's the Jets' long-term answer at quarterback? I'm going to be honest with you. I don't think

there's any chance that Justin Fields can prove he's the long-term solution for the Jets at

quarterback this year. And the reason I say that is I don't think there's any quarterback who in one year can prove something like that.

In the NFL, coaches adjust from year to year.

And there are lots of guys who have one really good season.

And then the league kind of goes to school on them.

You know, the coaches spend the offseason studying film, pinpointing their weaknesses

and developing schemes to combat that. And the guys who stick around long term in this

league are the ones who can succeed in spite of that, in spite of the rest of the league,

understanding what your weaknesses are, in spite of other teams scheming to try and maximize

your weaknesses. If you can still succeed after that, then you're a good, then you're a long-term player.

But I really don't think that Justin Fields in one year can definitively prove that he will be

the long-term solution for the New York Jets of the quarterback position.

As the question mentioned, it's very unlikely.

You know, sometimes you're running into a situation like the Lions had with Jared Gough.

And of course, Aaron Glenn, Tanner-Angstrand come to the Jets from the Detroit Lions.
