I'm going to dive right in.

In my ignorance, I thought I would get through the first session in about 20 minutes.

So I only got halfway through my slides.

So we're just going to pick up right where we left off.

So we talked about a spiritual breach.

And the amazing thing is God has a solution for the breach in the walls of righteousness

around a nation, around a city, around a people, or in our hearts.

In Isaiah 58, we see the solution.

In fact, all of Isaiah 58, the entire passage is verse by verse, instructions for us as to

how we do justice.

In fact, Isaiah 58 is called the fast that lets the oppressed go free.

Most fasting is with food.

This fast, I believe, I'm coming to believe, growing to believe, the fast of Isaiah 58 is

a fast of convenience.

Did you catch me?

The fast of Isaiah 58 speaks extensively about spending yourself on behalf of the poor.

Now the energy that it takes to spend yourself on behalf of the poor means you got to eat.

But I think, no.

But obviously you can combine it with not eating.

But I really believe that the emphasis of Isaiah 58 is getting out of your comfort zone,

getting into the place where it costs you something to spin yourself so that your light would

break out like the dawn.
