Welcome back to Justice Pending. This is a special breaking news edition of our podcast because there has been an arrest in the 2011 Cold Case Murder of Ashley Oakland in Des Moines, Iowa. This just happened. And I wanted to bring you the news because I know that many of you have reached out to

tell me about this development and I wanted you to know that I was following it. Ashley, as you

recall, was featured on justice pending last month in February and now unbelievably there is an update in her case. They have made an arrest.

The West Des Moines Police Department has arrested Kristen Ramsey, a 53-year-old woman,

and charged her with first-degree murder. So I wanted to go ahead and bring you the press conference from the West

Des Moines Police Department so that you could hear it from the police chief himself.

Yesterday, our unrelenting pursuit of justice for Ashley Oakland reached a significant milestone.

Fifteen years ago, Ashley's death sent shockwaves not only throughout the Central Iowa community,

but throughout our entire state. Since her death on April 8, 2011, the search for answers

has weighed heavily on family, friends, coworkers, and our Central Iowa community. In addition, Ashley's

story is haunted a very frightened community of professional realtors who have forever changed how they

hold open houses and conduct businesses, business on a daily basis. Some of you represented here

today by the media who have followed the case throughout the years

or were at the homicide seen back in 2011, have shared that you too were affected by the details of Ashley's homicide on a personal level more so than most,
