Hey everyone and welcome back to Justice Pending. I'm Claire. And I'm Susan. And today we're covering the heartbreaking and

still unsolved murders of two promising college students, Heidi Childs and David Metzler. They were

found shot to death at a quiet recreation area in Jefferson National Forest, and it's been over

15 years since that warm August night in 2009,

yet still no arrests.

This is one of the many cases that has come to our attention through our listeners.

Heidi and David were just 18 and 19 years old, both in their

sophomore years at Virginia Tech. Devout Christians, active in their church youth group, both with

big plans for the future. They were smart, musical, athletic, and close to their families.

Truly, the kind of couple everyone describes as inseparable.

And then tragedy struck. Susan, let's set the scene. Okay, on August 26, 2009, Heidi and David drove

out to Caldwell Fields for what was supposed to be a peaceful evening. David brought
