Summary

When a criminal defendant gets the death penalty it can feel like a life sentence to the families of the victims. Amy and Sheryl speak with Matt Hunsaker, whose mother, Maurine Hunsaker, was murdered when he was 10 years old in 1986. The ladies also speak with former capital case defense attorney Mark Moffat about the state of the death penalty in Utah. Lastly, Amy and Sheryl talk about what it's like to witness a firing squad execution, which they've each done.

1:12.7	1986, and Ralph Menzies was convicted of that killing a couple of years later, and he remains on
1:18.4	death row today. Then we're going to talk to Mark Moffat, a local attorney. He started his career
1:23.3	as a public defender, moved into private practice, and then the last few years, he has been working to abolish the death penalty here in Utah.
1:36.6	Matt Hunsaker, and I met on a soccer field many years, too many years ago, unfortunately.
1:43.9	My husband was coaching a, like a rec soccer league for little kids, and Matt's son, Colby,
1:49.7	played on that team.
