It's me, Brittany Cleansam with the news as usual.

And then I sit down with Marilyn State Senator Bill Ferguson, who's also the president

of the Marilyn State Senate to discuss the future of Baltimore and Maryland.

He's actually one of the first legislative leaders in a state that we've had on the

pod and I just wanted to learn more about what's happening in a moment like this and he

was just selected as Senate President in Maryland.

So there's a lot to talk about.

The lesson this week is sometimes you've got to wash your hands.

You've heard that the best way to protect yourself, you don't need a whole lot of hands

antitizer.

You don't always need gloves every day, but what you do need to do is wash your hands.

That is one of the most effective ways to keep safe, to stay healthy.

And it made me think about, you know, sometimes you've got to wash your hands of people,

of places, of feelings, of things that don't serve you.

That sometimes we hang on to things because we want it to work or they're really good memories

or because, you know, it did something really important to us.

And sometimes that really is just us living in the past and that's not sort of realizing

the moment that we're in right now and that we have grown and that we're different people.

So the lesson this week is sometimes you've got to wash your hands and I think about myself.

I'd let go of a lot of fears and a lot of things that I've been carrying.
