The first time Ibi Hanlon felt the pain, she was working at her local grocery store in Houston, Texas.

She was lifting a huge bag of dried beans when suddenly she felt this awful, throbbing sensation in her lower back.

It really felt like a razor or a knife just being sawed into your back.

And you never felt anything like that before.

Never.

And then deep in her stomach, the worst day of your life period cramping.

The pain caught Ibi's so off guard that she instantly dropped the bag of beans and fell to the ground, right in the middle of the aisle at this grocery store.

And beans just filled like the entire area, the whole bag was gone.

And people were stopping and staring and are like, what on earth is going on with you?

Ibi had been working at the store for seven years.

She was the optimistic and outgoing one of her coworkers.

Like if someone was having a bad day, she'd cheer them up by starting dance parties under the stores overhead music.

But right now, Ibi was hunched over squirming from the pain.

She didn't care about the customers staring at her or the beans skidding down the aisle.

The only thing on her mind was that she needed this pain to stop.

I was definitely freaking out.

I didn't know it was going on.

I thought, am I dying?

Like, what do I need to do?

My boss got an ice pack.

She's like, do you feel like you need to go to the hospital?

And I was like, no, I'll just sit down.
