Are you alone? My mom just told me about a scary moment she had before me and my brother were born.

My mom and dad had just moved into a completely new house.

There were no neighbors yet since they had just started building in the area.

It was my dad's first time leaving the house for work.

Two minutes after he left, the phone rings.

My mom's home alone.

She picks up the phone. It's a man whose voice she doesn't recognize.

He asked my mom, are you alone right now? My mom quickly answers that she's not and that her husband is home with her.

The man then answers that he knows her husband just left so cut the lies.

My mom hangs up, looks around, and doesn't see anyone around the house. There's not really any hiding places, it's an open space, ready for new houses to be built.

My mom goes hiding behind the kitchen counter, terrified.

This was before it was normal to have a mobile phone. She

knows she needs to call my dad and tell him to come back but the phone keeps

ringing. After gathering some courage she answers again and this time the man says when is he coming back

where did he need to go my mom hangs up immediately and calls the place for my dad

works he's not there yet since it's a 25 minute drive.

She tells his coworkers to tell him to drive straight home when he arrives.

She hides behind the kitchen counter once again and waits for my dad to finally come home.

The phone rings two more times during 40 minutes and then

my dad finally arrives home. He searches the area but there's no one there. They

never hear from the man again. My mom is still kind of scared to be home alone,
