It's now time for just the terror with Nick Guerra.

Last play date. One day when my mom was nine years old, her mother kicked her out of the house for the day

told her to go outside and play my mom did so pretty soon her father joined her

he played with her for a few hours, which was unlike him. It was a stern,

unemotional man. They played tag, he sang to her, all sorts of stuff. When she got home, she found out why she had been locked out of the house

for the day. The night before, her father had succumbed to his stomach cancer. Her mother

wanted to be alone for the day to make arrangements.

My mom is usually pretty logical, but she insists that this actually happened.

She thinks his spirit wanted to spend some final hours with her

before it moved on to nothingness.

Back in 2015 when I was 12, my class went on a camping trip.

It was a place called Woodman Point.

The place is located in the midst of suburbia, but its surrounding bushland made it feel remote.

In 1886, it was a quarantine station, isolating immigrants with smallpox, the bubonic plague, and even the Spanish flu, which means someone had to at least die there.

The facility continued being used as such until 1979 when it was closed. Fast forward to modern day where it is now a recreational

camp that hosts many schools. It has an indoor rock climbing area called the cube with a flying fox on it. The camp had

dormitories that were split up in agendas. Luckily I was placed with my friends.

The camp itself was fun. We played games with the counselors in the bush surrounding it. We built rafts on the beach, tried out the cube in all of its glory.

One night before dinner, our teachers organized a group activity where each dormitory had to find glowsticks.
