This happened back in grade school long, long time ago.

I'm not sure I remember this story so much as I remember remembering it,

It happened a long, long time ago.

As I recall, it was a warm summer day. The sun was shining brightly outside. We got to go outside twice for recess. It was an ice school of about 300 kids from kindergarten and fifth grade. I was in third or fourth grade at the time. I don't remember which.

What I do remember is that my teacher was a very large woman. She handed out timeouts very liberally.

it tilted open towards the inside. One thing I absolutely hated about my skull was the bees.

We called them bees, but there were actually two kinds. There were the big fat

bumblebees that were slow and pretty benign. They didn't sting people very often. They were easy to knock out of the air and

stomp on. The second type of B was actually some sort of hornet or wasp. It looked like a yellow jacket, but the coloring was a little different. When you saw one of those flying around you either screamed or screamed while flailing your arms at it.

Of course, even horse flies look like bees to little kids, so it was a safe bet to just try and kill anything flying in the air.
