Summary
After landing the top overall player in the transfer portal on Friday -- safety Caleb Downs -- the news couldn't get much better for Ohio State, right? Or the Buckeyes could go out two days later and nab the No. 1 quarterback recruit in the country in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports Composite, Julian Sayin. Since he signed with Alabama and enrolled early, he technically counts as part of OSU's amazing haul from the transfer portal (rather than part of the Buckeyes' 2024 recruiting class).
This means Ohio State has now landed the No. 1 overall player in the portal (Downs), the No. 1 2024 QB recruit in the country (Sayin), the No. 1 QB available in the portal (Will Howard), the No. 1 running back available in the portal (Quinshon Judkins), the No. 2 interior lineman available in the portal (Seth McLaughlin) and a quality tight end in Ohio University transfer Will Kacmarek.
We're just Sayin', we have never seen anything like this before and we are absolutely loving it.
