Hello and welcome to being well I'm Forrest Anson. On this podcast and out in the world of personal development in general, there are an awful lot of ideas.

So sometimes it's nice to have one simple thing to focus on.

So Alex, I want to ask you a last question question I want to slip it in, okay?

Which is currently inside your own mind, what do you consider to be the most important thing you do each day for your own well-being?

That's a good question. But one of the things I would like to do more of, but that would be

very powerful to do intentionally is gratitude.

I mean I suppose I do do that every day because I've practiced it enough and

reminded myself to focus on those things that it starts to become more automatic,

but just reorienting your focus and attention

to the positive parts of your life.

And that also, by the way, includes acceptance,

because a lot of times we have negative things going on in our lives

that we just keep focusing on.

You can't control what your brain reorient your focus to.

You just have habits and there's environmental stimuli,

like your brain is gonna to refocus on things and you can't

necessarily control that. But you can reorient it to the more positive aspects of your life and that just improves your mood and makes you feel more in control of things.

But one of the things that prevents us from doing that is that we're like, but I can't allow myself to refocus because there's this negative thing and you just

have to be able to accept like yeah that negative thing is there and I'm still going to
