As y'all know, typically before the end of every show, we take a minute to shine a light

on some black history.

Well, we're doing that early in this episode because we've got a little something special.

Back in 1992, at the height of the AIDS pandemic, an activist by the name of Terrence

Alan Smith, made a historic bid for president of the United States as his drag persona

Joan Jett Black.

There's a new short documentary out that you can watch on YouTube right now, titled The

Beauty President, all about his efforts, and joining us to discuss it is Terrence Alan

Smith himself and director of the short film Whitney Scoggy.
