Welcome to TALK IS JERICAL, it's the part of Thunder and Rock and Roll and Jurassic World

Dominion, the final installment in the newest trilogy of this classic series, hits theaters

this weekend, it's got the cast from the 1993 original movie, it's also got a bunch

of new dinosaurs and today I've got paleontologist Steve Bruceat who consulted on the film and

helped director Colin Trevor Roe and his crew bring the new dinos to life.

Steve describes how much scientists have learned about dinosaurs in the 30 years since the

original Jurassic Park movie and the theaters and how much they've discovered in the last

10 years alone thanks to all the fossils being on earth, mostly in China and Argentina.

Steve is talking about the new species that appear in the Jurassic World Dominion and why

they have feathers and in some cases brighter colors he talks about the T-Rex and what we

really know about it today, what velociraptors really look like and why they didn't change

that in this Jurassic World film and of course we're talking about my favorite form of dinosaurs,

sea monsters including the sea la canth that lived during the time of the dinosaurs and

is still around today.

Steve's got some great stories from his new book The Rise and Rain of the Mammals where

he talks about the evolution and extinction of animals like the woolly mammoth, the saber

to the tiger and sloths, some of which lived and survived in the time of dinosaurs.
