The entrance of the Leora Academy of Magic was at the steps of Leeds Town Hall. When

a student of the magical arts climbed the stairs, time froze and the grand statues of two lions

which guarded the town hall, stretched their limbs and hopped off their plinths, opening

the underground path, leading to the academy. The lions were so agile and limber, pouncing

lightly on their big paws and shaking their big shaggy mains that, aside from the fact

that their coats were a rich grey colour, it was impossible to tell they were made of stone

at all. This year, though, something was different. The lion statues didn't seem so agile
