What's up, everybody. It's Matt Valdez here. I'm hosting and emceeing the throwback 30 segment that I'm doing with the Junkies.

It's coming every Thursday. We're going to drop a classic segment, interview, bit, or legendary moment from the show exclusively on our podcast feed.

And our first segment that we're doing is entitled

The Drunkies.

It's a drinking show that was done April 20th, 2000, when you guys were doing nights.

I have no idea why you guys are doing a drinking show in April.

In April.

Because we could. Here's the thing.

The nighttime shows for drinking shows were more fun because you're more inclined to drink and get

loose at night. And even though it's always a weird bit when we start drinking at six in the

morning. When you're drinking at seven at night, eight at night, nine at night. But you don't remember, when we worked at night, people would just bring beers by on Tuesday. We'd have meals. We had dinner every night at one point. We also had the Sam Adams deal. We had the Sam Adams deal. Yeah, I miss that deal so much. A nugget in there is, I believe J.P. is chugging Sam Adams' IPAs.

Oh, very nice.

You guys. You guys have six beers by an hour into the show.

That's pretty intense.

That's probably what it was. That was probably the inspiration.

Sam Adams. We had a sponsorship with Sam Adams that we won free beer for a year.

We did a show in Boston and did some little Whiffleball Home Run Derby. I don't even think we won it.

We finished second. They're like, you know what, we're going to hook you anyway.

They fudge the results. They would show up literally with 20 cases of Sam Adams, like at the studio. And we, like, I don't have to make separate trips to the car to bring all the Sam Adams home. I mean, can we get that thing? What was the guy's name? What was the guy's name? Jim Cook. Jim Cook. Yeah, he's still grinding. Yeah, Jim Cook. Still drunk, too. You know what else he is? Super rich. Oh, yeah. Those shows were fun, though, at night. We'd get the homies involved. I know that we're going to hear crickety in this best of clip. Yeah. Eric, it's funny because what you did back in 2000 is kind of the same that what you do now. You're claiming you've only had two beers and you're under the limit, but you feel hammered.

That's true.

That's a go-to of you. But it's not a claim. Like, that's usually true. Like, if I have a couple beers, I do feel tipsy, but when I blow a number, it's remarkably low. In other words, I can, I can feel like, whoa, I shouldn't be driving. and it'd be like a 0.03 or something,

or 0.02.
