Where have we got to as a society?

When junior doctors, that's junior doctors,

are demonised as greedy as grasping

as somehow uncaring about the patients

they literally dedicate their entire lives to looking after.

Now, junior doctors, it must be emphasised

on the work courses of the National Health Service,

the backbone of our hospitals.

And without them, obviously,

the National Health Service would collapse.

They carried us through our worst national emergency

since the war, and now they've been kicked in the teeth,

repeatedly and very hard.

Now, let's just hear this junior doctor

completely take down a TV presenter with facts, facts,

and nothing but the facts.

If a patient who was in need presented themselves

to a junior doctor and said,

help me, the doctor would help them.

Strike or no, strike.

The industrial action is actually, in the end,

the same as refusing to help a patient face-to-face.
