James Wood made his debut for the Nats yesterday.

We saw a couple of big free agent bids in our leagues this week,

and we're going to review the top performers for June and see if we can learn anything from them.

As I said before, Fred, we're starting to see some big name prospects to get called up. James Wood got the call officially yesterday and made his debut, went one for four, got a hit on his first at bat.

What did you see from him?

Yeah, he certainly, I think he has the, like just watching, I think he has the look of an explosive player.

Just watching his base running ability, like just the length of him.

I think I just, well, we've seen it before with guys like Ellie and O'Neill Cruz and stuff, but James Wood being six, seven, just seem the stride length of him. Yeah, I mean, are there going to be some learning curve? Sure, for sure. But when you look at his minor league numbers, this year they are Christian and Carnassian strand like that's a

kind of my my ballpark in recent years of or my barometer in recent years of someone who's

just destroying minor league pitching um but yeah anyways watching him last night you just see

that explosive athleticism where uh for fantasy purposes he could really like fill your stats sheet

in a lot of ways as long as

he isn't overwhelmed initially by Major League pitching. Yeah, that's right. I'm a little wary of

their comp there, though, after what happened to CES this year. Hopefully, uh, plays better,

doesn't get as unlucky health-wise either. He's a better, I think he's a better prospect, too, than CES.

I was just, he was my guy who was, so when CES came up, he was just destroying AAA pitching, and he did hit the ground running in the majors. Like, he wasn't like, you know, like Ronald O'Cunier or something like that, but he hit 270 last year with 13 homers in 63 games. Like he's basically last year was a 30 homer player hit 270.

So he had some good initial success. But looking at Wood last night, like I said, I think, and last night the Met started a lefty. So he's in the lineup left on left. So I thought that was a good sign. I mean, he was going to be in the lineup for his first game anyways, but hopefully they just, which they should, just play him every day. Like, he needs to face lefties. If he's going to be a future lineup centerpiece for you, he needs to be an all-around hitter. So I thought that was good, too, that he had some moments even in a game that was started by a lefty. Yeah, that's true. That's true. Wild game. Uh, lots, wild 10th inning,

at least. So many of the runs, uh, scoring that game happened in the 10th inning, kind of
