Hi, friends. I'm Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books

0:06.4

of the New Testament and the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ's

0:11.3

life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. Each month,

0:17.0

we read all four books. It takes 30 days if you read three chapters a day, so we'll get through

0:21.3

the whole thing in the month of June. And today we're finishing up the book of Mark and moving into

0:26.7

the book of Matthew. So go ahead, subscribe and join us as we read the Gospels together. It's a

0:31.9

fun day. I like when we straddle books like this. I think it's really fun. So I think you're going

0:35.7

to enjoy today. Here's how this works. I'm going to read those three chapters to you. You can listen

0:40.0

or read along in your own Bible or online. And then I'll pray. And that's it. Today is June 6th,

0:45.5

day six. And I'll be reading Mark chapter 16 and Matthew chapters one and two. And this month,

1:11.1

to one another, who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb? When they looked

1:16.4

up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled back. As they entered

1:21.7

the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side and they were

1:26.4

alarmed. But he said to them, do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth who was crucified.

1:32.4

He has been raised. He is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him. But go, tell his disciples

1:38.7

and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee. There, you will see him just as he told you.

1:44.2

So they went out and fled from the tomb for terror and amazement had seized them. And they said

1:48.7

nothing to anyone for they were afraid. And all that had been commanded them, they told briefly to

1:54.4

those around Peter. And afterward, Jesus himself sent out through them from east to west the sacred
