Good Monday morning. I'm Anna Palmer and welcome to your Politico Playbook audio briefing. Stay tuned after the show for a message from Jewel Labs. And I'm Jake Sherman. We're kicking off this morning with a thought bubble. Ted Cruz and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had a moment on Twitter last week in which they agreed to work together to craft a bill to ban former members of Congress from lobbying. It's not a new idea.

4 a.m. in D.C. He had this to say about Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London.

Sadiq Khan, who by all accounts has done a terrible job as mayor of London, has been foolishly

nasty to the visiting president of the United States, by far the most important

ally of the United Kingdom. He is a stone cold loser who should focus on crime in London, not me.
