Summary
Today, I jump on the much used Overground line to travel around the top of north London — the route is a kind of North Circular Road of the railways.
I explain how, if you're not in too much of a hurry, it's a great way to see the city.

| 0:17.0 | It's a kind of north circular road of the railways and it's been really quite well revived. |
| 0:26.6 | Every 15 minutes or so, there are trains that run from Clapham Junction, which is of course |
| 0:33.6 | the busiest railway station in the UK and they kind of wind round the north. |
| 0:41.0 | I've joined the train here at Kensington Olympia, yes, for the exhibition centre. |
| 0:47.0 | And the train itself is going on a journey of about 20 stops all the way to Stratford, |
| 0:55.0 | home of the Olympics and also major junction |
| 0:58.7 | on everything from the Jubilee Line tube |
| 1:02.9 | to trains heading for South End and even Norwich. |
| 1:08.6 | There's a parallel line that also runs around the south of the capital. |
| 1:16.1 | And that curls around from Clapham Junction |
| 1:19.0 | and runs through places like Denmark, Hill, Peckham, |
| 1:24.3 | goes out to Canada, water, big shopping centre there, interchange again with the Jubilee line, |
| 1:30.1 | and then through the oldest railway tunnel in the world, as far as I'm aware, |
| 1:37.9 | the one between Rotherhide and Wapping. |
| 1:41.6 | Then it sweeps up to Shadwell and Whitechapel, the hub for the Elizabeth line when that's |
| 1:49.7 | finally working properly, and then Shoreditch, Hagerston and all the way to Highbury and Islington. |
| 1:59.0 | And they kind of overlap only twice along the way, once at Clapton Junction, where they tend to leave from, often the same platform, but just going in different directions. |
