Summary

If you are tracking a flight you have booked to see how well it is performing – and you don't like what you see – can you cancel and get a full refund? Sadly, perhaps, once you commit to a flight, past performance is inadmissable as grounds for getting your money back. But you can do some useful ground work. I take you through what tracking can be good for and what you can do to limit your loss if a flight is cancelled this summer.

Here's her situation.

1:30.3

It's an interesting one which I thought would be worth sharing with you.

She's got a flight booked on at the end of July,

1:38.3

Gatwick to Venice, and she has been,

1:42.3

because of all the concerns about flights being delayed and cancelled and so on at short notice,

1:48.1

she has been tracking that flight. So she's been seeing if it's been running as normal. And she says,

1:58.1

no, we've counted three outright cancellations on the day including

Sunday just gone plus a 10 hour delay it appears that weekends are particularly tricky she
