Here are your Washington headlines of the day. Number one. Donald Trump on Kevin McCarthy.

Number two, the gun bill is on a glide path. And number three, a review of primary night in America.

Let's get into it. So we've had an interesting few conversations with members of

Congress in the Capitol after the January 6th hearings. The conversations have gone something

like this. And very few Republicans will say this publicly, but we'll say privately they believe

that the January 6th hearings have gone really well for Democrats and has unearthed a bunch of interesting information, quite frankly.

And they have, Republicans are starting to wonder, at least privately, about the wisdom of not having anyone on the panel.

They have no Republicans on the panel.

Let's review.

Number one, Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell killed the commission, the nonpartisan or the bipartisan, I guess I should say

commission to investigate January 6th. Republicans voted against it in the House after one of

their own members negotiated it, and then Republicans in the Senate killed it. Then Pelosi

created the select committee. McCarthy Then Pelosi created the select committee.

McCarthy had picks to the select committee.
