What are you hearing about Sandoval, his future?

How do they get so desperate?

Yeah, it's pretty obvious John Farrell is, if not intentionally, certainly has set the message to Dave

de Browski that this isn't working out in terms of the roster, that they're so determined

not to have Sandoval take right-handed at bats that they're willing to put a catcher at third base, so it never played that position in a major league game. That kind of tells you where the roster is and that they have to do something to fix it, and that could happen as soon as today. What are the options with Sandoval right now? I don't think at this point the option would be to release them. I don't think they're ready to do that yet. Dombrowski said the other day that they feel like they need to give him more of a look, that they need to give him more of a chance. It hasn't been enough yet with the time that he's been on the disabled list. But it could be something where they put him back on a disabled list and give him a chance to go play some minor league games. but the point, at this point, he's not a starter. He's not their third baseman.

He's a, he's not a starter. He's not their third baseman. He's a bench player who they occasionally play, and it's just not a bench player. He's a guy who can come in and hit occasionally against certain pitchers, but he can't play the field. He can't come in and play defense. There's not really much use for him, and they need to figure something out because it's

impacting their ability to win games.

From what you've heard, is what's wrong with him able to be fixed?

Like, could he get back to close, not even to what he was, but to where he's competent

starting for a major league baseball team? Well, it's not like he's coming back. I mean, he did have the injury. He came back from a deal. He hurt his knee. That's, I guess, essentially, fixed. I don't know. I mean, at this point, I don't know if you can fix the fact that he's not a good player anymore. That's been the case for going on two and a half years.

So I don't know what they can do to fix that.
