Good morning, everyone. I'm Playbook co-author, Ryan Lizza. It's Tuesday, June 18th, and here's what's driving the day.

It's primary day in Virginia and Oklahoma. We're watching two races in which Republican incumbents

are being challenged.

First at Oklahoma, Representative Tom Cole, now the chair of the House Appropriations

Committee, is being challenged by Paul Bondar, a self-funded candidate who has spent

nearly $5 million attacking Cole from the right.

What Cole has managed to unite just about every

faction of the GOP, from Donald Trump to Carl Rove, in support of him. He is expected to beat

back this challenge, but watch that one carefully tonight, see how close it is. In Virginia,

the opposite is happening to Representative Bob Good,

who has managed to unite just about every faction of the GOP, including Kevin McCarthy and Donald Trump,

in opposition to him. Good's opponent is former Navy SEAL and Virginia state legislator John

McGuire, who Trump is backing, partly because Bob Good endorsed

Ron DeSantis in the presidential primaries, and who McCarthy is backing because Good voted to

oust him as speaker. This primary has it all. There's lots more on that race in the newsletter

this morning, including some of the

best parts of a must-read account from Olivia Beavers, who spent the weekend in Virginia

reporting on that primary. Trump met yesterday with Speaker Mike Johnson and National Republican

Congressional Committee Chairman Richard Hudson at Mar-a-Lago. After that meeting, Trump issued several

endorsements on Truth Social that suggests a much tighter coordination between the House
