Good Monday morning. I'm Jake Sherman and welcome to your political playbook audio briefing sponsored by BP. And we're kicking off this morning with the behind the scenes look at Donald Trump during his ABC interview. The president stopped answering a question during his interview because someone in the room coughed, quote, in the middle of my answer. If you're going to cough, Trump said, please leave the room. George Stephanopoulos said it was Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief who had cough. Trump then asked the ABC crew if they'd like to record the answer about handing over his financial statement differently. They said yes, they had changed the angle. This video is well worth watching. Check out playbook for the link. Breaking news coming out of the AP this morning from Tehran. An Iranian spokesman said that the country will break the uranium stockpile

limit set by Iran's nuclear deal within the next 10 days. And the Wall Street Journal is reporting

that Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross is tempering expectations on a U.S.-China trade deal at the G20.

Ross told the journal that the most that might come out of it is an agreement to actively

resume talks.

And on the Supreme Court front, the Washington Post reports that while John Roberts began

the court's term last fall, trying to assure the public that it is apolitical, the term's

biggest cases all fall along partisan lines, including gerrymandering

and the citizenship question on the 2020 census. John President and Burgess Everts scoop

that the White House and congressional leaders will meet this week to try again to reach a spending

deal. Reuters is reporting that Asian markets were near a one week low on Monday amid trade and

geopolitical

tensions. The New York Times is reporting the president wants to try to neutralize Democrats

on health care. He wants to put out a new plan to diminish some of the Democrats' advantage

on the issue. This comes as Nancy Pelosi in House Democrats held dozens of health care

town halls over the weekend. Democrats once again plan to use health care as a key issue in the election.

And on the 2020 front, the Trump campaign has fired multiple pollsters after unflattering numbers

leaked. CNN is reporting the campaign has cut ties with Michael Baseless of baseless and associates,

Adam Geller, and Brett Lloyd of the polling company, the former firm run by Kellyanne Conway.

And the AP is reporting that both parties are preparing for a fight

in no surprise, Florida ahead of the 2020 election.
