for an armed suspect who allegedly ambushed Pasarobli's police officers on Wednesday morning.

filed a lawsuit against the intended victim demanding $25,000 in damages for inflection

of mental and emotional distress.

On Wednesday morning, a man later identified his 26-year-old Mason James Lyra allegedly

open fire outside the Pasarobli's police station, shooting one officer in the head.

Police describe Lyra as a homeless person for Monterey.

A multi-agency force made up of officers from the California Highway Patrol, the Pasarobli's

police department, the San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Office and the FBI, have been searching

the area for Lyra ever since.

As of the time that this episode was recorded, he remains large.

Ian Parkinson, the sheriff of San Luis Obispo County, told Baker's Field eyewitness news

that a dispatcher was the first to know Slyra, loitering outside the station building

around 3 a.m.

Roughly 45 minutes later, at 3.45 a.m., Lyra allegedly opened fire on the station, shooting
