My name is Jeff Gluck, and I'm along with my co-worker, Jordan Bianchi.

We are motorsports writers for The Athletic, and we are doing a podcast that we absolutely 100% did not expect to be doing today.

It is Saturday night in Los Angeles, California, not raining at the

moment. We've just watched Daniel Suarez. He has just won the NASCAR-Mexco series race at the end of a

long and chaotic, surprising day, Jordan. Jordan's right next to me, but for those of you

watching, we're talking on different

laptops here to make it easier to look at.

But Jordan, what a whirlwind of a day.

This is very surreal that we are doing this podcast right now.

When you woke up today, did you think the clash was going to happen Saturday night?

I mean, obviously not.

I didn't even think that was

possible at all um what did you say I didn't you did not yeah well yeah who would have I mean we

we you know the garage opened at what nine o'clock this morning and you know you're going to

you're talking everybody in the garage right and everybody's going man I sure wish they could run this

race tonight dang like we're going to be stuck here there There's no way they're racing Sunday. They're,

they're expecting what the National Weather Service is calling life-threatening flooding.
