Summary

France has some weirdly inexpensive train tickets, for example the AVANTAGIO' FUTÉ deal in southwestern France this summer that offers flat fares from €3 upwards, well below normal levels. no need to book in advance. There are some even more extreme deals, such as just €1 for a rail journey of almost two hours from Beziers to Millau. Many €1 buses run implausible long distances too. And with driving a pain in France in July and August, they're well worth snapping up.

to talk about the way train fares work in France now there's lots of stuff which

0:47.7

says that train fares everywhere on the planet apart from the UK are all great and in

0:53.1

the UK they're terrible that's

0:54.5

actually not quite true but there are some amazing deals right now in France

for train travellers which kind of render travelling by car

1:05.5

just ridiculously expensive in comparison so So I'm speeding along.

1:11.6

It's a journey of about 25 minutes from Bessier to set,

1:15.6

covering about 30 miles, and the fare for that is a flat 5 euros.

1:22.6

Now that, of course, about £4.50,

1:26.6

and for a journey of that distance, that strikes me as a pretty good deal.

1:33.0

It's about 30% or 40% lower than the normal fare, but for some reason, this summer, they have a promotion called Advartageau Fute in this part of southern France. I have no idea why

1:48.0

they will call it that but they have done and we're speeding past by the way across the

1:55.0

flatlands of this particular part of the lovely French coast overtaking cars which are on the parallel
