| 1:27.0 | See, I'm sending my messenger ahead of you. He will prepare your way, a voice of one crying out in the wilderness. |
| 1:33.0 | Prepare the way for the Lord, make his path straight. |
| 1:36.0 | John came baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. |
| 1:42.0 | The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem were going out to him. |
| 1:47.0 | And they were baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins. |
| 1:51.0 | John wore a camel hair garment with a leather belt around his waist and ate locusts and wild honey. |
