Let's read the Gospels.

The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible,

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ's life on earth,

the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. So here is how it works.

I'll read three chapters to you. You can listen or read along in your own Bible or online,

and then I'll pray, and that's it. So today is day 21. I'll be reading Mark chapter 16 and then Matthew chapters 1 and 2 in the new living translation. And if you've

got your let's read the gospel's guided journal, we are on page 139. Mark 16. Saturday evening, when the Sabbath ended Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James,

and Salome went out and purchased burial spices so they could anoint Jesus' body.

Very early on Sunday morning, just at sunrise, they went to the tomb.

On the way, they were asking each other, who will roll away the stone

for us from the entrance to the tomb? But as they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone, which was

very large, had already been rolled aside. When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white

robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, but the angel said,

don't be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who is crucified. He isn't here.
