Washington. The White House is looking to pivot to tax reform and infrastructure. Interesting.

Here's what the White House needs to know. The 2018 budget could easily go down and that would

mean no tax reform. Right now House conservatives are

on the brink of tanking the spending blueprint. And on infrastructure, right now, Republicans are

nowhere. No one is focused on it. And the one issue that's been plotting along, privatizing air

traffic control, is not looking good in the House and is expected to die in the Senate.

Our colleagues, Josh Dossi, Bernie Becker, and Aaron Lorenzo are reporting that Trump

is looking to put the corporate tax rate in the 20s.

The big six principles working on this are hoping to come to an agreement on taxes by September.

But as the White House and congressional Republicans would love to turn the page to taxes,

the AP has a

story out about Trump having a second previously undisclosed conversation with Russian President

Vladimir Putin during a dinner with world leaders and their spouses at the G20. White House

and other Trump officials said it was not an official meeting or pull aside, but a conversation

over dinner. But other accounts,

the AP is reporting, say the conversation with Trump and Putin was for nearly an hour and that

Trump was very animated. He lashed out at the quote, fake news and called the story, quote,

sick. He tweeted that the dinner was being made to look nefarious when it was really on the president's public

schedule. Still, it's very unusual that the president would speak to a foreign leader at length

without a translator that understands the language. It puts the U.S. at a disadvantage and allows
