Gene and Randall introduce long-time UFO researcher Jan L. Aldrich, who, since 1995, has run Project 1947, a research effort funded by CUFOS, FUFOR, and MUFON, now called the UFO Research Coalition. He has visited over 150 libraries, universities, archives, museums, and historical societies in 46 states and Canadian Provinces. Over 300 contributors worldwide have submitted over 10,000 pages of personal accounts, newspaper clippings, reports, and government documents to Project 1947. Project 1947 continues and welcomes further contributions in the collection, research, and analysis of pre-1947, 1947, and early UFO era material, and presentation of results of these efforts. Jan resides in Canterbury, Connecticut.

0:40.2	And we were talking about somebody whose work he took over from with his project 1947 website, name of Ted Blosher, who had an amazing database of the early sightings.

1:09.1	And we had some fascinating people in there, such as, of course, Lex Mebben and

1:15.0	And some of their writings were just positively brilliant.
1:20.2	And Jan, I was mentioning this to you before we got started.
1:24.9	This is CSI of New York, no resemblance to that horrible TV show.
1:31.0	Okay? We're not talking about this spin-off of the Las Vegas CSI, which is coming back this fall
1:38.1	with two of the original stars. I mean, they just never give up. So, Jan, how did you get involved

1:49.1	Junior high, the Christmas, over the Christmas vacation, we had a thunder, thunder, snow, a snowstorm
1:57.2	where we have thunder and lightning.
1:59.8	And I was making cinnamon toast and the chimney got hit by lightning.
2:07.7	And there was a spark that jumped across the electric.
2:10.2	So I opened up the oven and there's this ball of light just hovering inside the oven there.
