Summary
Civil aviation? Not any more at Heathrow, as Emirates rebels against the airport's demand to cut passenger numbers. It's a summer of discontent in the aviation industry so far and as schools break up for summer, it might be about to get worse. Will Heathrow's idea work or make any difference at all? | 0:11.2 | and that's because things are happening in the world of travel, which are simply unprecedented. |

| 0:24.1 | it goes back to Tuesday's, which was Heathrow suddenly saying, we're going to put in a 100,000 |
| 0:30.9 | passengers per day cap, no more than 100K per day for people leaving our lovely airport. |
| 0:38.8 | Airlines, you've got to stop selling tickets now until the 11th of September, |
| 0:44.4 | and you're also going to have to cancel some flights so we can get that number down to sensible levels. |
| 0:51.6 | The airlines have spent the last couple of days figuring out what they are going to do |
| 0:58.0 | in terms of cancellations and I've already managed to find, well, United, Air Canada, Air India, |
| 1:05.2 | Luftanzer have been canceling flights almost like there's no tomorrow. Over the 10 days I've charted from |
| 1:13.6 | Friday the 15th to Sunday the 24th of July there are going to be widespread cancellations |
| 1:21.6 | on many of those transatlantic flights. Air Lingus also canceling lots, so is SAS, |
| 1:29.4 | but they'd be canceling flights anyway |
| 1:31.1 | because their pilots are on strike. |
| 1:33.4 | Swiss to Zurich and to Geneva, |
| 1:37.1 | those are being cancelled. |
| 1:38.5 | But what's equally interesting is the airlines which aren't canceling any, |
| 1:43.3 | at least as far as I can see. |
| 1:45.4 | They are, they include Virgin Atlantic and its partner Delta. |
| 1:50.1 | American Airlines, one of the biggest airlines in terms of passenger numbers at Heathrow. |
| 1:55.8 | And in the Gulf, Qatar Airways, Etihad and Emirates. |
