This noon, Pete Fradies has a message for everyone.

Earlier today, there were false reports that Fradis had passed away.

He and his family tweeted this video in response.

Earlier this morning, Pete's mother tweeted a message saying he is resting comfortably as doctors, medicine, prayers, and love continue to help him get stronger.

Afraid he spent a few days at MGH last month as well.

The former captain of the BC baseball team inspired the Ice Bucket Challenge that has raised more than $200 million for ALS research.

We're simulcast on CSN, television, and Pete Fradies, everyone knows,

the Ice Bucket Challenge, raising all the money and awareness about ALS, his brother Andrew, very, very involved in everything that's going on.

And on July 3rd, I was on vacation in Tennessee, and Mike Gambino, who is the manager or head coach of the Boston College baseball team,

texted me at 818 in the morning and say,

hey, those reports about Pete aren't true.

He's still fighting.

I spoke to John.

And I got back to him in a timely fashion at 1204. Is that what you woke up? Yeah. And I'm in Tennessee. What are these reports? Oh, bad. And he says, Jesus, morning was nuts. It got reported that Pete passed away, and the local sports stations were picking it up, and I just wanted to make sure you had it right. I mean, Andrew, so, okay, let's just start for the beginning.

So early in the morning, this report goes out.

Mike Barnicle tweets out that, according to him, a family friend had told him that Pete had passed.

That was up for maybe 45 minutes before it got corrected.
