Summary

Today I'm covering some of the fall-out from the easyJet decision to cancel 1,700 flights over the summer – and in particular stressing your rights if your flight is cancelled. For example, a listener called Jane found her Gatwick-Barcelona trip moved to a Luton-Barcelona departure – and lost a day of her holiday at the end. I advised her to demand easyJet buys perfectly good tickets on rival Vueling, as it is legally required to do. I've contacted the Civil Aviation Authority about some of the communications from easyJet and am looking forward to the CAA reply ...

only available on the LNER app. And it's basically LNER splitting its own tickets and coming up with the

best possible deal for you, which I've managed to grab for £31 just half an hour or so before departure so there are bargains out there

that's not what I'm going to say that I'm going to talk about more fallout from the easy jet

mass cancellation that I reported on yesterday now I think easy jet is an excellent airline

they've done wonders for travelers and it's absolutely great that they offer such wide-ranging service.

They're the second safest airline in the world after Ryanair and I use them very, very frequently.

However, they have cancelled a whole load of flights for reasons, as explained, to do

with the pressure on their operation at Gatwick. So, that's fair enough. I mean, they've been

having so many last-minute cancellations that I really don't think it was sustainable

dozens of flights each day at the weekend.

So they've decided to cull about 25 flights a week to try to ease the pressure and boost
