Being a part of today's episode. I'm really excited about today's guest and before

I get to the interview, which is terrific. I want to thank Mark Grody because this all happened

because Grody and I were having a conversation on the air and I don't even remember how

swiker came up. But we were like, yeah, she's pretty great. And they're like, yeah, we should

talk to her. And then I was like, I should have her on House of L.

Because her story's pretty amazing. In Northwestern grad,

walked out of Evanston right into a job at the score. Very much a pioneering figure

in sports reporting in Chicago in the 90s and early 2000s. And then she walks away and completely

goes in a different direction. I'll leave it up to you listening to the interview to hear the

direction that she went in. What I can tell you, it's delicious. And it was fun to just catch up.

You know, we talk occasionally on Facebook, but I'm one of the people that used to produce

Julie's show. When I was first starting out as a producer, Julie would have a weekend show.

She'd have, I think she took over the Sunday morning show when Dan got promoted to full time.

She would do evenings and I would produce her show sometimes in the evenings when I was a part

of time producer. She's great at the update desk of a fantastic reporter who helped me a ton

when I started reporting. Just kind of learning the ropes, introducing me to people, that sort of

thing, which is what you should do, like that you should try to help people along if you can.

But she didn't have to. And she did. And it was great. We also, the two of us,

bond over White Sox stuff. She's one of the most passionate White Sox fans that there is.

And you'll hear it. Like we talk about it in here and you'll hear her like passion for the team

and how that's never really gone away, which is great. It's wonderful to see.
