I'm the first female editor of Slate and ever since I took this job four years ago I've been getting questions

about what it's like to be a woman editor or a woman in charge of a news magazine.

I never know how to answer that question. I just am the kind of leader I am. But when I

look around at my profession and others it's still clear that there are fewer women at the top

than there are men.

So in this show, women in charge,

I sought out really fascinating smart women in charge

in various industries and asked them

how they lead and how things are changing

for women in their fields.
