And today I have a very, very special guest. I'm so excited she had time in her schedule for us today.

I want to introduce you guys to Julie Wong. She is the CEO of Olaplex Hair Care,

which I'm sure all of you have heard of. It is definitely a fan favorite line.

So welcome, Julie. I'm so excited you had time for us today.

It's my pleasure, honestly. I really want to know all about your background in your career history.

Before we dive into Olaplex, you know, entire journey.

Absolutely. I mean, you know, like everybody says, you know, where do you start?

And I guess, you know, if you think about me as a person, I was brought up in a family conservative,

you know, a place in Singapore, as you can imagine, in the 70s, where everybody was really told to tell the line,

speak when spoken to, you know, be very respectful to, you know, to your elders.

And so I spent a good part of my life up until I was 16, 17 in Singapore.

And I realized that as great as a life that I had, I really wanted to branch out.

And that was my first foray into the international space.

And I pleaded with my parents to let me go study in Australia.

And I chose Australia primarily because the US had their school year starting in September.

And in Asia, we followed the British rule.

And where we finished our school year at the end of the year at December.

So the earliest, the fastest I could start my college degree was in March in Australia.

So I told myself I'd rather start in March than start in September because that would have, you know, I would have lost almost a year as a result.

So when I started in Australia, it really opened my eyes.
