Summary

Nic from the True Crime Garage podcast joins me to discuss the case of Judy Martins. On the night of May 23, 1978, Judy went out with friends for some fun. With Memorial Day Weekend approaching, she had plans to travel with her friends. According to police, Judy left her friends' dormitory at Kent State University to walk a short distance back to her own dorm. That would be the last time she was seen. Since she lived alone, she wasn't reported missing for more than a day. The investigation into her disappearance never gained traction and eventually went cold. Sadly, Judy's parents have since passed away, and the case remains unsolved to this day. However, her brother and sister are determined to see the case resolved and believe it is still possible. 0:08.3	On this week's show, we are going to take a look back at a case from 1978.
0:13.2	But before we get started, I want to talk about what I participated in on Wednesday, October 27th.
0:19.2	And that was The Walk for Amy. And this was in honor of
0:22.9	10-year-old Amy Mahalovic, who was abducted from the Bay Village Shopping Plaza in Bay Village,
0:29.2	Ohio on October 27, 1989. I was a 10-year-old and was living in the city that borders Bay.
0:38.3	And it was something that was extremely tragic and definitely hit close to home because, of course, these are small suburbs and everybody's parents were extremely worried that they were going to be the next abducted child.
0:56.7	And again, this case is still unsolved.
0:59.3	And what makes her case unique is that she was actually lured to the plaza.
1:04.1	And so this was a premeditated act.
1:06.8	This was not some abduction of opportunity.
1:10.5	This was something that was planned.
1:13.8	And, again, unfortunately, she was found dead about 100 days after she went missing.
1:20.5	So the walk for Amy was in honor of Amy Mahalovic and her family and the community.
1:29.1	And we all hope one day that we'll be able to find the answers to the case that is
1:34.3	haunted Northeast Ohio for a number of years.
1:38.4	But there's another case that has also haunted Northeast Ohio for a number of years.
1:46.2	And that is the missing person's case of Judy Martins, and she was from Avon Lake, but was going to Kent State University at the
1:52.1	time of her disappearance. In order to make heads and tails of this case, I have a special
