Do you ever have that feeling when you just wish those who are doing such wickedness in the world

would get what's coming to them? That is a God-given sense of right and wrong and sense of justice.

That is part of what it means to be made in the image of God.

Today in Genesis 6, 5, through 8, we're going to be seeing how God brought about judgment many times through history, and today's is going to be the first time we see, God bringing

his judgment on the sin of mankind. Welcome to the morning mindset. This is our opportunity

to get our minds aligned with the truth of God's word for this day. So get out your Bibles. We're going to be looking at the book of Genesis again today as we continue our God's story series. All right, before we dig in, let's pray together.

Our God, we want your guidance and your wisdom for what we read today. So guide us and direct us.

In your name we pray. Amen. Okay, friends, Genesis chapter 6, verses 5 through 8. We just learned that

sin has kind of snowballed. It got bigger and bigger in mankind's history shortly after the fall of Adam and Eve into sin. And in Genesis 6, 5 through 8, it says the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.

So the Lord said, I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and

animals, and creeping things, and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them. But Noah

found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Okay, so we have the character of Noah introduced here

at the end of this statement, and we're going to get to this deliverance that God brings next

episode. But today, we want to focus in on this issue of judgment. God himself acknowledges

that the evil of mankind's heart has gone out of control,

says the thoughts of his heart were only evil continually.

And what we see God doing in response to that evil is the focus of our episode today.

God enacts judgment.
