An associate editor nor off on Hyna. Hi John. Okay so here's the question. Do we

have to eat crow or can we explain why we don't have to eat crow? We on Friday and

much of last week we're taking happy victory laps about the disasters befalling woke policy

and woke politicians and the results of the Tuesday election and then late and talking

about how Democrats were in disarray and then late Friday night the House Democrats along

with 13 Republicans passed the the bipartisan infrastructure bill that had been languishing

in the House for three months after it passed the Senate again with 19 Republican votes

back in August and and so there is a sense abroad that somehow we said this bill wouldn't pass

and we were wrong and now we are going to reap the whirlwind and America is going to be destroyed.

Noah how do you take the extreme pessimism and anguish that seems to have erupted in quarters on

the right about the passage of the bif as it came to be known for you know reasons why you would

want to name a bill after either Willie Lomans idiot the loser son or after the villain and back

to the future I don't know but nonetheless bif passed so let's let's let's try to analyze what

happened here yeah I find it absolutely inexplicable the level of apoplexy on the right I can only

think that after Tuesday's a lot of results everybody got a little greedy and imagined that

what everything would stop dead in its tracks at no point John you suggested that we said that

this bill would not pass I never said that no I never said that months and months and months we have

been saying there's no reason why it shouldn't have passed months ago that the hostage taking and
