All right Chad it's time to close the door on Gideon and

get into a real interesting and bad story.

Yeah, yeah, that's exactly right.

Yeah, we left Gideon making Ephods last time, leading Israel stray,

did not, the end of Gideon's story did not end the way his story began.

A lot happened to Gideon between that beginning and that ending and especially toward the end things were not good he collected those

golden earrings made the e-fad all of Israel went basically literally hoaring as

the as the Hebrew puts it after those idols

became a snare to Gideon in his household. Now it does say as you as you pointed out

that the land had rest for 40 years under the leadership of Gideon but those 40 years were not full of

Orthodox worship where all of Israel was just completely devoted to to yweh. We have this continuing as I mentioned in the first

episode on judges this continuing canonization of Israel throughout the period of the

judges. It waxes and it wanes, but it waxes a whole lot more than it,

than it, then it, then it, then it, then it lessons. So we're gonna, we're gonna see the,

we're gonna see the seeds that that Gideon was sewing come to full flower in the life of one

of his sons in the next chapter so it happens sometimes. You'll have a guy who does some bad things,
