The Olympics may be over.

But Team USA still has some work to do because next up is the World Baseball Classic.

And thanks to the hockey teams pulling off that double gold at the Olympics, everybody seems pretty fired up and inspired by Team USA right now. Well, everybody

except Captain America himself, apparently, aka Team USA baseball captain Aaron Judge, who is a lot of

things, including one of the best right-handed hitters in baseball history. He is that. What he is not

is one of the best motivational speakers in world history. In fact, he might be one of the worst.

And that was pretty obvious when he tried to get up in front of the team yesterday and motivate

them ahead of their first

official tune-up game today against the Giants.

Now put aside for a minute that they're having no trouble with Frisco.

That's not what that speech was for.

That speech was not to get them ready for Frisco.

It was to get them ready for the tourney.

So, if we know this guy's not great at this, why is he doing it?

I guess on the one hand, it's a little bit awkward and undermining to have somebody other than the captain address the team.

But they definitely should have had somebody other than the captain address the team,

like anybody at all.

And whoever was rolling video on this speech should have realized it's not exactly

premium social media content unless the objective was to have the entire internet
