I'm your host, retired NYPD homicide sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD.

A lot of goings on, of course, in the Brian Coburger case, a lot of decisions

that judge rules and if Brian Coburger can get the death penalty. And we're going to discuss that

in some detail today. And the other thing is Judge Hippler has been ruling for the prosecution

in quite a few of these recent rulings. And many of the uneducated, many of the jump to

conclusion people on YouTube,

the content creators that don't know what they're talking about.

Oh my God, he's so prejudiced.

No, this judge is making rulings based upon case law.

All right.

He's not making it based upon personal bias. He is using precedent-setting

case law, which is how learned, educated, experienced judges make their decisions. Because after

all, this is a death penalty case.

Any mistake that he makes is going to be under a microscope.

And if he makes a large mistake, there will be, look, if Brian Koberger gets convicted and gets the death penalty, there will be 25 years of appeals.

So it's not just one or two appeals.

Every death penalty, that's why the death penalty case is almost obsolete, because the

defense holds it up for 15, 20, 25 years.

And if, in fact, the defendant ever actually receives the death penalty, it'll be so far into

the future that it exhaust the criminal justice system. So we're going to talk about this tonight.
