Summary

The Yankees have taken the first two games from Boston, and on Wednesday started to look like their old self. We discuss the juxtaposition between Tuesday and Wednesday’s wins, Luis Severino getting his swagger back, Luke Voit’s 2 HRs off Price and Red Sox fans crying about the short porch, Neil Walker’s clutch HR, Justus Sheffield’s MLB debut, JA Happ’s success against Boston, and the Yankees trying to give the game away on Tuesday.  Brian Fischler, stand up comedian and founder of Laugh For Sight (@LaughForSight), joined the show to talk about being a blind comic, how he has followed the Yankees over the years, some of his favorite people he’s met in comedy, and much more! The Laugh For Sight benefit is November 12 at Gotham Comedy Club. Tickets are just $40. So far, two games, Scott, in this Red Sox series, the Yankees have listened to what we asked for and have not let the Red Sox celebrate on their home turf. Yeah, this is a good thing. I thought at one point when the Yankees needed, we're playing such terrible baseball that maybe this would be a wake-up call. But I think they did the opposite. And they said, okay, we don't want them to celebrate and there's a good team coming in. That's our wake-up call.

1:48.9

So either way, wake-up call is there. And it's been kind of a funny series because Tuesday's

1:55.7

win, after that thing, I just felt dirty watching that. I know in your postgame video, you said,

2:01.8

even when they win, it feels like they don't win. Yeah, well, especially in that particular,

2:06.5

in that particular game, and I know we'll get into all of it, but the way that it finished

2:10.5

the game was just laughable. It was unbelievable the way that it was happening. And, you know,

2:15.9

just the fact that Britain had two opportunities at the same play. I'm like, you got to be kidding me. Like, I, this cannot happen again. Dejaveu all over again. Yeah. And I'm saying that in the middle of the play, you know. Um, but thankfully that would have been true, that would have been true low point if that's how the Red Sox were able to clinch the division if on the Yankees just absolutely puking all over themselves in the ninth inning. I'm glad it didn't happen. Right. They tried. So it's a good thing. That's like one of those games that you come out with a win and you're like, holy shit. Maybe this turn things around. Like how did we even come out with a win on that one? Like, you could, you could make this a very good thing. You got, that's a look yourself in the mirror type of game and say, what am I doing with my life? Right. You wake up the next morning. I know you and I have done that many times back in college. No. You wake up the next morning and be like, what the hell? College?

3:08.3

No.
